Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico is an island full of art, beauty and nature.

When I decide to go to Puerto Rico was just to get away from the city, I was missing the hot weather and to be on a plane. This was my first solo trip, also staying in a hostel as a backpacker, I was a little scared to go because everyone describe Puerto Rico as a dangerous Island.

I started my trip by walking around the Old San Juan and seeing the enriched of the stunning  architecture, the colorful colonial houses reminded me a lot of the “Old Havana” in Cuba and the “Colonial Zone” in Santo Domingo also colonized by the Spanish.

I got the chance to Visit different places like “El Yunque Rain Forest” that really impressed me  with the beautiful waterfalls and the different plants all over it, Luquillo with the beautiful beaches, Surf all over the island, Tainos Caves. Going to “La Perla” was fabulous I felt welcome by the locals everyone was very nice, got the chance to talk to some of them. “La Placita de Santurce” one of the place that some locals recommended to me, this is where you go to get the real Puerto Rican experience with live music, bars all over, locas and also tourists. I got the chance to see “El Gran Combo” performing live in “La Placita de Roosevelt”.

I know now why they call it “La Isla Del Encanto”.
